Problem Note 58667: When files are created by the SASĀ® threaded kernel I/O services under UNIX, default permissions are set to 0777 (rwxrwxrwx)
Currently, when files are created by the SAS threaded kernel I/O services in a UNIX operating environment, the default file permissions are set to 0777 (rwxrwxrwx). In addition, other applications that call the threaded kernel cannot change this default permission setting.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix, the default permissions for files created by the threaded kernel I/O services under UNIX change from 777 to 666. Also, as a result of the fix, individual applications will be able to change the permissions from 777 to 666, and users will be able to control permissions by using the value of the PERMISSION option in the FILE or FILENAME statement.
